In the 2013/14 Premier League season David Moyes presided over Manchester United’s worst start to a season in the history of the Premier League.

However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Moyes’ start had in fact been better than the start enjoyed by his predecessor, Sir Alex Ferguson.

According to BBC Sport:

In his first 22 competitive games as manager of Manchester United, David Moyes won 11, draw 6 and lost 5.

When Sir Alex Ferguson took charge at Old Trafford in 1986, his record over the same number of games was won 9, drawn 7, lost 6.

Nonetheless, with United now back on the rise you will not get very good odds on United winning the league this season under Jose Mourinho, as he looks to build even more on the two major trophies he won last season.
